What do I do if my brown food waste recycling container wasn’t emptied because it was overfull?
Sorry we don’t empty food waste containers if they are too full for the lid to close. Please take out some of your food waste so that the lid will close and put your container out for your next weekly collection.
If you regularly have extra food waste you can do the following:
- Check that your family isn’t throwing food away unnecessarily and you may save money too
- Take this to the Household Recycling Centre in Oldbury
- Ask a neighbour if you can put it in their bin on this occasion
- Double bag the food waste and put it in your grey household waste bin for collection the following week
