Equality Impact Assessments
Equality Impact Assessments (EIA) provide a mechanism to systematically assess the possible effects that a policy, project or decision is likely to have on different people. Our policies and services do not always affect everyone in the same way, and sometimes the effects on groups or communities can vary. Therefore, we carry out an EIA as part of our decision-making process. It can assist to identify possible discrimination by analysing policies, projects, practices, processes, procedures, services, and decisions, to make sure they do not discriminate or disadvantage people and will help towards improving or promoting equality.
