Confirmed uplifts and rates/fees for 2026/27
Sandwell Council has confirmed its uplifts, rates and fees in relation to the following support types for 2026/27.
Domiciliary/Homecare
Domiciliary Care / Homecare (inc. within an Extra Care Setting)
Increases from £21.24 per hour 2025/26 to £22.12, effective from 6 April 2026
Reablement Service
Increases from £21.24 per hour 2025/26 to £22.12, effective from 6 April 2026
Residential
OP Residential
Increases from £745.08 per week 2025/26 to £775.11, effective from 1 April 2026
Complex Residential and Negotiated Rates
Increase of 4.03% effective from 1 April 2026 applied to placement fees agreed prior to 31st December 2025 unless negotiated otherwise.
Nursing
Older People Nursing (Excl Free Nursing Care)
Increases from £745.08 per week 2025/26 to £775.11, effective from 1 April 2026
OPMH Nursing (Excl Free Nursing Care)
Increases from £800.94 per week 2025/26 to £832.79 effective from 1 April 2026
Complex Nursing and Negotiated Rates
Increase of 4.03% effective from 1 April 2026 applied to placement fees agreed prior to 31st December 2025 unless negotiated otherwise
Nursing Providers Please Note:
The rates shown on the website are exclusive of Free Nursing Care. The Free Nursing Care element of fees is now paid direct to care home providers by the Black Country Integrated Care Board.
The Department of Health has announced the Free Nursing Care fee for 2026/27, and it increases from £254.06 to £267.68. This means that with the adult social care fee:
The weekly fee for Older People Nursing increases from £999.14 in 25/26 to £1,042.79 inclusive of FNC, effective from 1 April 2026
The weekly fee for Older People Dementia Nursing increases from £1055 in 25/26 to £1,100.47 inclusive of FNC, , effective from 1 April 2026
Supported Living
Increases from £20.60 per hour 2025/26 to £21.44, effective from 1 April 2026
Day Care
Increase of 4.14% effective from 1 April 2026
Shared Lives
Increase of 4.14% effective from 1 April 2026
Direct Payments for individually contracted Domiciliary/Home Care
