Attendance by media at the 2026 Local Election count
Sandwell's Local Election count takes place from 10am on Friday 8 May 2026 at Tipton Sports Academy.
All media attending the count must have proof of assignment from accredited broadcast media outlets or registered mainstream media outlets.

You must return your completed paperwork no later than 4pm on Friday 24 April 2026. No applications will be considered after this deadline.
In the event that more media attendees apply for access to the count than we can reasonably accommodate at the venue, it may be necessary to limit the number of attendees.
Photography, filming and recording
We often take photos, video and sometimes audio recordings at council buildings and events.
If you feature in any such photos, videos or recordings, you will be asked for your consent. If you are under 18, your parent or legal guardian will need to consent on your behalf.
We use these images, videos and recordings for:
- Council publicity, advertising and exhibition materials;
- Council and partner organisation websites, social media channels and digital communications; and
- Other news media including print, radio, television and online.
Images and audio are stored electronically in accordance with Data Protection laws, including and without exception the General Data Protection Regulation (Regulation (EU) 2016/679) and the Data Protection Act 2018, and may be used for up to five years from the date of signing a consent form.
