procedures and practice guidance

It is essential that everyone works together to prevent and stop abuse of adults at risk.

Sandwell adopt the Safeguarding adults multi agency policy and procedures for the West Midlands. This gives clear guidance on how to to respond when abuse is suspected or reported.

There are other safeguarding policies and procedures that you may need when dealing with a case.

Safeguarding Adults Reviews

Occasionally an adult at risk dies or is seriously harmed. A Safeguarding Adults Review (SAR) may be undertaken where abuse or neglect is known or suspected to be a factor in the death (including suicide).

SARS in Sandwell (previously known as Serious Case Reviews) are available on the SSAB website so everyone can understand and learn from the findings.
