Paying your Council Tax
Paying by Direct Debit
Direct Debit is the safest and easiest way to pay your Council Tax. You can set one up now easily online.
You just tell your bank or building society that you want us to take monthly payments direct from your account.
Please do not submit this application if you have been issued with a court summons or notification of a court order (known as a 'liability order') for the debt you wish to pay. This includes any debts currently in the hands of the bailiffs or being collected via an attachment of earnings/benefit. To discuss your payment options if you have received a summons or are subject to a liability order, please call us on 0845 351 0015.
If you do complete this form but you already have a summonsed debt, or are subject to a liability order, the Direct Debit will not be set up and further recovery action will continue.
If you don't want to pay on the first of the month, you can choose the 5th, 15th or 28th of the month.

You can also pay your Council Tax on the web with your Visa, MasterCard, Solo, Visa Delta, Visa Electron or Maestro cards.
Other ways to pay
You can also pay over the telephone, in person or by standing order.
How much Council Tax do I owe?

Your Council Tax is normally payable in ten monthly instalments, starting on 1 April each year.
