Ceremonies at Highfields House
Guest numbers at wedding and civil partnership ceremonies
We have a choice of three marriage suites as detailed below:
- The Sandwell Suite – 82 Guests including the couple
- The Garden Room – 30 Guests including the couple
- The Highfields Room – 15 Guests including the couple
- The Sandwell Register Office – Couple and witnesses only

Ceremony Rooms
The Sandwell Suite and the Highfields Room have recently been refurbished and both rooms overlook our beautiful gardens and have the benefit of sash windows. The Garden Room is our new ceremony suite overlooking the gardens and will be available for ceremonies from 1 May 2023. Photographs can be taken in the gardens both before and after your ceremony.

We provide music in the Garden Room, Highfields Room and Sandwell Suite which is played through a sound system which adds to the overall ambience of the ceremony.
We want to ensure that all couples holding a ceremony at Highfields House have a wonderful event and we will work with you to ensure that your ceremony holds lasting memories of the day and is just as you wanted it to be.
Costs for ceremony rooms (All prices include £12.50 for the provision of one marriage certificate, if required additional certificates can be purchased at a cost of £12.50 each) The provision of one marriage certificate is optional. If you do not require a marriage certificate please let us know and we will remove the £12.50 charge.
We have certificate presentation boxes available to buy which make a lovely gift or keepsake for your marriage certificate. The cost is £10 or £20 to include the certificate if purchased together.
The Statutory Register Office Room:
- Monday to Thursday - £68.50
The Highfields Room:
- Monday to Thursday - £169.50
- Friday and Saturday morning - £232.50
The Sandwell Suite:
- Monday to Thursday - £465.50

- Sundays and Bank Holidays - £745.50

The ceremony - pre-ceremony interview
We will ask the couple to arrive 15 minutes in advance of the ceremony time to complete the pre-ceremony interview. Once this is completed all guests will be invited into the ceremony room and once seated will start your ceremony.
Your ceremony
The registrars will have discussed the ceremony format with you prior to the date of the ceremony.

Giving notice
All couples getting married at the Register Office, and at all venues other than a Church of England church, must give Notice of Marriage.
Booking your ceremony
If you have a date in mind for your wedding or civil partnership, you can reserve the date up to two years in advance. The cost for this is £81.00 and gives you peace of mind that the date is reserved for your ceremony. (The fee to save the date is non-refundable and is an additional charge to the cost of room hire).
How to pay
For the Register Office ceremony room or for the Highfields Room, the hire fee is payable either at your notice appointment (if given at Sandwell Register Office) or the day after you give notice (if given at any other Register Office).
For the Sandwell Suite, the room hire fee must be paid at three months before your ceremony.
Payments can be made by card or cheque. (Cash payments can also be taken if required but we would appreciate card payment where possible)
Cancellation fee
Please note, once fees have been paid in full, if you wish to cancel your ceremony a cancellation fee will apply - 50% refund reducing to nil if cancelled within 3 weeks of the ceremony date.
If you need to change the date of your wedding once it is booked, there will be a £43 charge.

You can also get married at other venues in Sandwell, including hotels and West Bromwich Albion Football Club.
