Consultation on Sandwell Council’s Private Hire & Hackney Carriage Licensing Policy Review
From Thursday 18 September, the Taxi Licensing Team are moving from Waterfall Lane to Sandwell Council House.
From this date, all appointments will take place at the One Stop Shop inside Sandwell Council House, Freeth Street, Oldbury, B69 3DB.
The Private Hire and Hackney Carriage Licensing Policy sets out our application process, what we expect of our drivers, operators and vehicle licence holders and gives information on rehabilitation periods should you have any criminal or driving convictions.
Any major policy changes must be consulted upon with service users before they are introduced and approved by both the Council’s Licensing Committee and Cabinet Members.
Each licence when issued will have conditions attached that the applicant has to adhere to. Please ensure that you read and understand these conditions and if in any doubt as to what your responsibilities are, contact a member of the licensing team.
Our knowledge tests are based on the policy and in particular, sections 2 and 3 of the policy and the conditions applicable to the licence being applied for.
