The following information is to assist candidates and agents ahead of the Local Elections on Thursday 7 May 2026.

Candidates and agents briefings

Briefing sessions for candidates and agents will be held on:

  • Tuesday 3 March at 6pm
  • Wednesday 4 March at 2pm.

Both sessions will be held in-person in the Council Chamber at Sandwell Council House, Oldbury, B69 3DE. You only need to attend one of the sessions.

Nominations

Nominations must be submitted in person from Friday 20 March until 4pm on Thursday 9 April.

Candidates or agents must make an appointment with the Electoral Services team to formally submit nomination forms.

Nomination forms can be informally checked. Please email them to candidates@sandwell.gov.uk All forms must then be formally submitted in person.

Nomination appointments will be held at the Big House, 44 Church Street, Oldbury, B69 3DE.
