The MySandwell app is saying goodbye
If you use the MySandwell app, we want to make you aware that it will no longer be available from 14 November 2025. After this date, it will no longer be available to download and will no longer be supported.
But don’t panic, you can do everything that you do on the app (and more!) on the MySandwell website.
For the best experience, you can create a shortcut to the MySandwell website on your device's home screen. This will give you the same easy access you had with the app. Once you've done this, many devices make logging in simple by saving your login details and using your fingerprint or face ID.
Here's how to add the MySandwell website as an app on your home screen, from your web browser:
- Visit MySandwell in your preferred internet browser
- Android users: Tap the three-dot menu in your browser and select Add to Home Screen.
- iPhone/iPad users: Tap the Share button (the square with an arrow) in your browser and select Add to Home Screen.
Why are we decommissioning the app?
We understand that some of you have found the app useful, but our data shows that the vast majority of residents prefer to use the MySandwell website. By concentrating our resources on a single platform, we can invest more time and effort into improving our existing services and developing new ones that benefit everyone.
There are 190 online services available on the MySandwell website. Whilst we have added the most used MySandwell services to the mobile app, making all our digital services available on the website work well in the mobile app will take a lot of time and effort. Based on the low relatively low uptake of the mobile app, we would rather invest that time improving the MySandwell website and creating new services for our residents.
Decommissioning the app will save the council around £20,000 a year. This money will be invested back into making even more services available on MySandwell and making them as efficient and effective as possible. This aligns with our commitment in the Sandwell Council Plan to provide value for money and continuously improve services for our residents.
The good news is that you won't lose any functionality. All the services you currently use in the app are available on the MySandwell website, which is fully optimised for use on any mobile or desktop device. It performs in the same way as the app, adjusting the content to best fit your screen size.
So, if you are an app user, please add the website to your favourites, or follow the instructions above to add a link to your home screen.
