The message comes from "Sandwell Council" with the council's logo, or "SandwellMBC" and includes a link to this webpage to show you what a genuine text message looks like.

If you do not see the Sandwell Council logo at the top of the message, this is because your phone may not be able to display it. Most people will see the logo, but if it does not show on your phone, check the link in the message is correct and sends you to the geniune payment page shown below.

The link on the text message will then ask you to verify your identity by confirming your postcode, before sending you to the payment page.
