Where to go for Advocacy support

There are a number of ways to speak up for your needs and views as a carer to health and social care organisations.

One of these ways is to ask a family member or friend to help you.

Alternatively, you can contact one of the organisations below:

Care Act Advocacy

If you are in contact with social services and feel that you have difficulty understanding information or weighing up your choices around your social care and support needs, or the needs of the person you care for, you have the legal right to ask for a Care Act Advocate to support you in discussions relating to your assessment and support planning. This can be both as a carer or reprsentative for someone who requires Adult Social Care and support, or if you are involved in the Safeguarding process.

Referrals for Care Act Advocacy must be made through and by your Social Worker.
