Sandwell’s churchyards and cemeteries provide a wealth of historical records and social history. Jack Judge is buried in Rood End Cemetery in Oldbury. Tipton Cemetery has a memorial to the 19 teenage girls killed in the Dudley Port explosion in 1922 which is part of a wider Heritage Trail.
James Eaton of West Bromwich, was a midshipman at the Battle of Trafalgar in 1805, and was the man who sent the signal “England expects that every man will do his duty". Although he was born in London, he eventually settled at Hill House, West Bromwich and is buried in All Saints churchyard. There is a memorial to him just by the entry to the church.
The cemeteries also include war graves and war memorials at Fallings Heath, Wood Green, Heath Lane, Tipton and Rowley Regis.
