Dementia Champions

Dementia Champions – Open to Everyone
Anyone in Sandwell who wants to make a difference can become a Dementia Champion.
You might:
- Have dementia or memory problems yourself
- Be a carer, family member or friend of someone affected
- Work with people with dementia
- Or simply be someone who cares about inclusion and wants to take action
There’s no set time commitment, and you don’t need to have any formal experience. As a Dementia Champion, you choose how you get involved — and every action, big or small, counts.
What can a Dementia Champion do?
Here are just a few examples:
- Share your experience to help others understand dementia
- Raise awareness in your workplace, school or local groups
- Promote Dementia Friendly Sandwell and encourage others to get involved
- Attend Dementia Friends training
- Signpost others to support and advice
- Volunteer with local organisations
- Encourage local businesses or services to become more dementia-aware.
