  • Term starts: Tuesday 4 September 
  • Half term holiday: Monday 22 October to Friday 26 October
  • Term ends: Friday 21 December
  • Main holiday: Monday 24 December to Friday 4 January

Spring term 2013

  • Term starts: Monday 7 January 
  • Half term holiday: Monday 18 February to Friday 22 February
  • Term ends: Thursday 28 March
  • Main holiday: Friday 29 March to Friday 12 April

Summer term 2013

  • Term starts: Monday 15 April
  • Bank holiday: Monday 6 May
  • Half term holiday: Monday 27 May to Friday 31 May
  • Term ends: Tuesday 23 July
  • Main holiday: From 24 July

Your school will let you know about any teacher training days so that you know when it will be closed to pupils.

Holidays in term time

Please think carefully before booking a holiday in term time that will take your child out of school.

You should consider very seriously the potential impact on your child's  education.

Statistics show that 10 days' absence in any academic year means pupils' learning suffers and they do worse in tests and exams.

Remember that schools don't have to provide work for students taking holidays during term time, although some might do.
