The Dudley Port area has been identified as a key area for growth within Sandwell. Set within Regeneration Corridor 9 of the Black Country Core Strategy, the area comprises traditional housing and significant areas of employment.

A Supplementary Planning Document (SPD)has been prepared which identifies the strengths and opportunities within the area. Proposals to encourage a more sustainable living environment have been developed by using Garden City Principles, which focus on quality of life and society living harmoniously with nature, but with a more contemporary approach. The SPD will provide the clarity developers require to invest in the longer term aspirations for the transformational change and the council will work proactively with them to bring sites forward to a development ready condition.

The Dudley Port Supplementary Planning Document was approved at Cabinet on 13 December 2017 and is now adopted as part of Sandwell's Local Plan.

The adopted documents are as follows;
