Following the publication of new ward boundaries by the Local Government Boundary Commission for England, the council is required to carry out a review of all polling places and polling districts.
This will review the locations and numbers of polling stations where people living in Sandwell vote during parliamentary, local and other elections. Any changes will be in place for the local elections in May 2026.
A polling place is the building where you go to vote, and the polling station is the room or area in the building.
We will try our best to make sure everyone has reasonable access to polling stations that are:
- easily identifiable
- within a reasonable distance and easy to get to
- disabled accessible and practical for all
- part of your community
Consultation
The draft recommendations can be downloaded and viewed. If you have comments on the review, please email Polling_Review@sandwell.gov.uk
The consultation period runs until Monday 13 October 2025. The final decision on any changes will be determined by Full Council in December 2025.
Please note that pursuant to The Review of Polling Districts and Polling Places (Parliamentary Elections) Regulations 2006, all responses to the review will be published.
