Book a pest control appointment
We provide pest control treatments for residents who live in Sandwell and for non-food businesses.
Treatments for rats, mice, bedbugs and cockroaches are free of charge in the home of anyone who lives in Sandwell. Please note, if the property is empty, charges do apply.
For other pests, including wasps, fleas and other insects including carpet beetles, moths and flies) there is a charge of £50 (unless you are exempt due to receiving benefits). Please note, we only offer treatments for wasps between 1 July and 31 October.
Please be aware that only a limited number of Pest Control appointments are available each working day. Demand on our service is very high – especially during the spring and summer months – therefore the earliest available appointment slots are those offered when you book a pest control treatment on our Customer Portal. Only in exceptional circumstances will the service consider bringing forward appointments. Each request will be considered on a case by case basis.

Important information about your pest control treatment
Rat and mouse treatments
A pest control officer will explain carefully any precautions you should take during and after a treatment and will leave with you details of the pesticides used. If someone comes into contact with rat or mouse poison wash the area of contact thoroughly.
If a poison is eaten, the person should be taken to hospital together with the information sheet showing the poison used and the antidote. If your pet eats your poison, take it to your vet together with the information card, which shows the poison used. In all rodent cases the antidote will be Vitamin K.
We can also provide pest control treatments and contracts for non-food businesses. Request an appointment if you are a non-food business.
Food businesses such as takeaways and restaurants should set up a contract or book treatment with a commercial pest control company.
We do not provide treatments for these pests or any others not listed above:
- garden ants
- honey, mortar or bumblebees
- cluster and swarming flies
- ticks or body lice
Please note, we do not provide a service removing dead carcasses other than rodents where we have completed a treatment.
