On Sunday 8 November 2026, Sandwell will host services and parades across the borough to mark Remembrance Sunday.
People of all cultures, faiths and backgrounds will join together to pay their respects and commemorate the service and sacrifice of our fallen heroes.
Seven parades will take place across Sandwell. Those wishing to watch the parades are advised to arrive from 10.30am. Following the parades, services will commence, during which a two-minute silence will be observed at war memorials at 11am.
This year, parades and services will take place at the following locations:
- Great Barr: St Margaret’s Church
- Oldbury: Civic Square Oldbury
- Rowley Regis: Powke Lane Cemetery
- Smethwick: Smethwick Council House
- Tipton: Victoria Park
- Wednesbury: Memorial Gardens
- West Bromwich: Dartmouth Park
These events have been organised by the Royal British Legion and local community groups, with support from Sandwell Council.
We welcome and encourage anyone who would like to pay their respects to attend the services.
The Mayor of Sandwell, Councillor Margaret Sutton, said: “Remembrance Sunday is an important time for communities across Sandwell to come together to remember and honour those who have served and sacrificed for our country.
“With gratitude, we reflect on the courage and service of members of our armed forces, past and present, and remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice in defence of the freedoms we are privileged to enjoy today.
“At Sandwell Council, we encourage residents to join us at services and parades across the borough as we come together to pay our respects and ensure their stories and legacy are never forgotten.”
