A single telephone number for most Sandwell Council services has gone live, making it easier for residents to get in touch by phone when they need to.
The new number is 0121 569 7474 and replaces the following numbers:
- Housing & Repairs 0121 368 1166 (housing) and 0121 569 6000
- Council Tax, Revenues & Benefits & Welfare Rights 0121 368 1155 (Council Tax and Revenues and Benefits 0121 569 3158 (Welfare Rights)
- Bins & Street Cleaning, Highways and Regulatory Services 0121 368 1177
- Adult Social Care 0121 569 2266
- Registrars 0121 368 1188
- Complaints & Compliments 0121 569 7867
The new number makes it easier for residents to get in touch with the council. And for some services, new technology allows callers to hold their place in the queue, put down the phone and receive an automatic call back once they’re at the front of the queue.
Although the majority of our customers prefer to do business with us online, this new number will make it easier for residents who are unable to use our online services, or for those who have a complex enquiry that means they need to speak to someone.
The improvements to our telephone services will help us improve our customer service and is part of our commitment to being a customer-focussed council offering the very best possible public service.
