Sandwell Council's Cabinet has approved a Best Start in Life Plan.
The plan sets out how local partners will work together to give every child in Sandwell the best possible start from pregnancy through their early years.
A big part of the plan is Sandwell's Best Start Family Hubs. These hubs help children, parents and carers get the support they need, close to home. Families can get advice, join activities and find help all in one place.
The plan brings together health services, schools, community groups and other partners. By working together through the Best Start Family Hubs, families will find it easier to get the right support at the right time.
The plan also supports Sandwell's Child Friendly vision. This means making sure children are safe, healthy and happy, and helping them do well in life.
The first years of a child's life are very important. The plan focuses on helping families during pregnancy and the first years after birth. It aims to improve children's health, development and school readiness, while also supporting parents and carers.
The Best Start Family Hubs will play a key role in delivering this support. They will bring services together and help families find the help they need more easily. The hubs will also reach out to families who may need extra support.
Councillor Mona Khurana, Sandwell Council's Cabinet Member for Children and Families, said:
"Every child deserves the best start in life. This plan shows our commitment to helping children and families from the very beginning.
"Our Best Start Family Hubs are at the heart of this work. They make it easier for families to get advice, support and information in their local community.
"By working together with our partners and listening to children and families, we can help more children grow up healthy, happy and ready to learn.
"Early support can make a big difference. This plan will help us improve outcomes for children and give every child the chance to reach their full potential."
The plan will guide work across the borough over the coming years. The Best Start Family Hubs will be a key part of making sure families can get joined-up support and the best possible help for their children.
The plan can be viewed on the council's website.
