Sandwell residents are encouraged to give their views on a report on local pharmacy services to help develop services for the future.

The Sandwell 2025 Pharmaceutical Needs Assessment (PNA) draft report is out now for public consultation until 4 October 2025.

The PNA looks at whether there are enough pharmacies, in the right areas, offering the right services, to meet the needs of local people.

The report also highlights where there are gaps in service provision and makes recommendations to target these areas. The report must be updated every three years.

Councillor Jackie Taylor, Sandwell Council’s Cabinet Member for Adult Services, Health and Wellbeing, said: “Pharmacies are important for keeping our community healthy.

“Sandwell is rich in its people and whoever you are, your voice matters. I urge everyone to find out what services are available at their local pharmacies as this can sometimes save them having to wait for a GP appointment.

“I encourage people in Sandwell to read the draft Pharmaceutical Needs Assessment report and share their views with us. Then we can make sure we have the right services in place at the right time for all our residents for the future.”

Once the consultation period closes, feedback and comments will be looked at and changes made to the PNA as needed.

The Sandwell Health and Wellbeing Board will publish the final PNA report by the end of the year.

An electronic copy of the PNA report, summaries and the survey can be accessed at the Healthy Sandwell website.

All information provided in the survey will remain anonymous and kept strictly confidential.
