Sandwell’s SHAPE Youth Summer Fest is back for 2025 with the biggest selection of free activities ever!

Join in all the excitement on Saturday 12 July from 12noon until 6pm at Sandwell Valley Showground, West Bromwich (B71 4BG).

The event is FREE to enter and will feature a wide range of fun activities for children and young people. More than 70 services and partner organisations have joined forces with Sandwell Council’s SHAPE team to put on the festival, which has been running since 2015.

A special thank you to the Stourbridge Paving Company who are sponsoring the festival again as well as the Dodds Group who have provided the event with a sparkle by donating electrical engineering services free of charge. The company is doing this as part of their social value commitment to the Constructing West Midlands (CWM) Framework, through which they supply services to Sandwell Council. In addition, too.

Activities include sports such as cricket, human zorb bowling, climbing wall, arts and crafts, Sandwell’s Youth Bus, FI Simulator, Bangers n’ Mashup CIC, breakin’ dance workshops, the mobile library, a careers expo for 14-19s, a young traders’ fair, a health and wellbeing zone and much more!
Two stages will showcase live music and performances from DJs and bands and local, upcoming talent.

The Albion Foundation has worked with SHAPE to bring back the ever-popular Blind Dave's Colour Run – there’s still time to enter! The Colour Run is a 5k run, jog or leisurely walk with six colour stations where participants will be doused from head to toe in bright colours.

Councillor Jalal Uddin, Sandwell Council’s Cabinet Member for Children and Families, said:

“The SHAPE Summer Youth Fest will be fun for everyone and is part of our ongoing work to support children, young people and their families. I want to thank everyone involved, including the young people who have helped to plan the festival.”

Councillor Jackie Taylor, Sandwell Council’s Cabinet Member for Adult Services, Health and Wellbeing, added:

“Events like the SHAPE Summer Youth Fest play an important role in promoting health and wellbeing. By bringing young people together in a positive and supportive environment, we’re encouraging active lifestyles, building mental resilience, and strengthening our community ties.”

Councillor Harnoor Bhullar, Sandwell Council’s Cabinet Member for Education, added:

“The SHAPE is definitely fun for everyone but it is also an opportunity for the young people of Sandwell to explore future career opportunities and get advice about how to get the skills for their chosen career path.”
