Working at an election
Staff are needed to help run the 2021 elections on Thursday 6 May.
On this day, residents in Sandwell will be voting in the Local, West Midlands Police and Crime Commissioner and West Midlands Mayoral elections.
We have vacancies for staff to work at polling stations, at the count and also opening postal votes.
You will be paid for your work. Please be assured that social distancing and hygiene measures will be in place at all polling stations, the count venue and council buildings.
If you have worked for the elections team on election day before, we already have your details.
Anyone who volunteered to work at the 2020 election before it was postponed will be allocated roles for this year’s election. You do not need to apply again – the elections team will contact you.
If you would like to work at the election and you have not worked at an election before, please fill in this form.
The Elections Team will get in touch to tell you where you will be working.
The count this year will be held at Sandwell Valley Country Park – not at Tipton Sports Academy.
The best way to volunteer to work at the 2021 election is by filling in the expression of interest form. The team will then contact you.
