An aerospace engineer and project manager at the University of Wolverhampton, Ahmed is an active member for the local community and a problem solver.
Ahmed is a team player who believes passionately in different people coming together to find solutions to their problems and listening to everyone’s contributions.

 

Alison Allen:

A voice for tenants, Alison has been a council tenant for 15 years and has a good grasp of the issues that tenants face. Alison has experience of navigating the challenges to bring about change and can empathise with other tenants and be their voice.

 

Aynols Reid:

Aynols Reid

A business owner and electronics engineer living in Sandwell, Aynols has been an active member of the local community for 25 years with a wealth of experience. Aynols has sat on several boards (including SureStart, Sandwell Homes, being a school governor and a member of SCIPS) and wants to improve Sandwell to be better place to live and work.

 

Delroy Thomas:

Delroy Thomas

A Sandwell tenant for 20 years, Delroy can provide a real insight into to how current housing legislation and local housing policy impact on local tenants. He can provide understanding and a tenant’s perspective.

Delroy's leisure interests include being a skating instructor and promoting healthy lifestyles.

 

Phillippe Brown:

Phillippe Brown

Phillippe works in the legal profession and her priority is serving the local community.
Phillippe's leisure pursuits are reading, writing songs, travelling, meeting people and learning about different cultures and languages.

As a scrutiny panel member, the training, development opportunities and the experiences Phillippe brings will contribute towards serving tenants, leaseholders and the overall community.

 

Stembile Mhlanga:

Stembile mhlangaA retired Town Planner & Gender Analyst living in Smethwick. Stembile has an understanding on housing and social policy related issues from all perspectives.

Stembile has been a Council Tenant for more than 10 years, so she understands the reality that tenants face, as well as the challenges that council’s face in service delivery. Stembile is keen to represent the voice of the tenant in her scrutiny role.

As a lawyer, Shefa has a particular interest in human rights.
As a problem solver, Shefa likes to help people and to assist them in resolving their problems.
Shefa's personal values are to be kind, energetic, hard working and learn from other people.

 

Shenelee Brown:

Shenelee Brown

Shenelee joined the scrutiny panel to have a positive impact in the quality of services and to reflect the views of tenants. As a council tenant, she has a real insight to some of the issues and challenges that tenants and landlords face.

As a parent, Shenelee understands how vital it is to have appropriate accessible services. She also has a degree in social policy.

 

Sue Smith:

Sue Smith

Sue's motivation is to improve the working relationship between housing services and the community, and see this progressed 
Sue sees the scrutiny role as a great opportunity to gain a better insight into various services the council delivers and the challenges the council faces, and to meet the staff.
Sue's interests include reading and music.

 

Tony Averis:

Tony Averis

Chair of Sandwell Visually Impaired and a SCIPS board member, Tony is an advocate through RNIB on various forums.
He is directly involved in visually impairment issues that impact negatively for those with this disability, focusing on making universal services accessible to all. 
Chair of Talking News since 2014, which he helps copy and distribute weekly (46 weeks of the year), Tony immerses himself in all the issues that visually impaired people face and is active in ensuring that public services are accessible to all.
