Our Tenant Engagement Strategy outlines how we work in partnership with tenants to create a better, more responsive housing service for everyone in Sandwell. Developed together with nine dedicated tenant volunteers, Sandwell Community Information and Participation Services (SCIPS), and colleagues from our Housing team, the strategy strengthens our commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement.

We want every tenant - wherever they live and whatever their circumstances - to feel heard, respected, and empowered to shape the services they receive.

Putting Tenants at the Heart of Our Services

Sandwell Council is committed to involving tenants in meaningful and practical ways. This strategy sets out how we will listen, involve, and work alongside you to help shape the homes, neighbourhoods, and communities you live in.

Our key aims are to:
  • Ensure your voice influences decisions about housing and neighbourhood services
  • Improve communication and transparency around how we work
  • Build trust through openness, accountability, and collaboration

Working Together to Make a Difference

Your ideas, experiences and feedback help us to:
  • Keep homes safe, well maintained and compliant
  • Improve the services you receive
  • Make decisions that reflect what tenants need and value

Whether you choose to stay informed or take a more active role, your contribution matters. Together, we can build strong, inclusive communities that everyone is proud to call home.
