Who Are the Tenants Auditors Group
The Tenant Auditors Group (TAG) helps improve housing services by carrying out independent reviews of how services are delivered to tenants.
The group currently has six members from across Sandwell. They work together to look at housing services, gather feedback and make recommendations to help improve the customer experience. TAG audits may include reviewing information, speaking to tenants and staff, and reporting findings to housing managers.
Become a Tenant Auditor
We are always looking for new Tenant Auditors.
As a Tenant Auditor, you will work with other tenants, residents, councillors and council staff to review housing services and recommend improvements. You will receive support and training to help you succeed in the role.
Tenant Auditors should:
- Have an interest in improving housing services
- Be able to work as part of a team
- Be willing to listen, ask questions and review information
- Respect confidentiality and act with integrity
- Be willing to learn and take part in training opportunities
These qualities help auditors carry out reviews and make recommendations that improve services for residents.

Working alongside the Tenants and Leaseholders Scrutiny Group
The Tenant Auditors Group and the Tenants and Leaseholders Scrutiny Group have different roles but work towards the same goal of improving housing services for residents. The two groups can work together on areas of shared interest and help ensure tenants' voices are heard.
