Help us build a sustainable Sandwell and become a Waste and Recycling Ambassador

What’s Changing?
From 15 September, Sandwell is introducing Alternate Weekly Collections (AWC) and Dual-Stream Recycling (DSR).
Here’s what that means:
Weekly collections will continue, but the type of waste collected will alternate:
- Week 1: Recycling waste (blue-lid bin and new blue recycling bag)
- Week 2: Non-recycling waste (grey bin)
Residents will need to separate cardboard and paper from their usual recycling and place it in the new blue recycling bag, which will be delivered to all households by September.
What Do Ambassadors Do?
As a Waste and Recycling Ambassador, you’ll be a vital link between the Council and the community. Your role will be to:
- Raise awareness and inform residents about the service changes
- Help explain why these changes are needed
- Share feedback and insights from residents to help us improve our services
Full training will be provided, so you’ll be well-equipped to make a difference.
