Residents' only parking stops non-residents parking in areas where this has become a problem for the people who live there. Most residents' parking schemes are in streets close to shopping areas.

People who live or work in an area where there is a residents' parking scheme need to buy a permit to park there.

Residents' parking permits can now be purchased online

We are working with MiPermit to put a new e-permit system in place for car parks and residential permit schemes. If you are renewing your residents' or visitors' parking permit, you now need to do this via the MiPermit website.

For help go to the MiPermit Help page or call 0345 520 7007.

If you need assistance you can contact MiPermit online or via Twitter @MiPermit

The MiPermit app can also be downloaded on both Apple and Android devices.

Please note, you are not able to purchase a parking permit via the app as you need to upload documents. This can be done from a phone, tablet, PC or laptop via the MiPermit website.
