Join the library
Anyone can join Sandwell's libraries, no matter where you live. Becoming a member is free and entitles you to borrow books, DVDs, CDs and other items from any of our libraries. Library members can use our computers and our free WiFi service.
If you are 16 or over you can join online:
Or call into any of our libraries and fill in a form. You can do this whatever your age.
If you join at a library and are 16 or over you need to show evidence of your identity when you fill in the form. This could be a driving licence, medical card, recent bill, student library card or bank or credit card.
If you are under 16 you don't have to show any ID when you join.
Join at the library and start borrowing items straightaway.
Join online and we will send you a library card within six working days. You can use our Online Services website to search for and reserve items immediately. You can also use our wide range of free information resources, such as Encyclopedia Britannica and Driving Theory Test Pro.
You can use the membership number on your library card and your PIN, to use our Online Services website. If you don't already have a PIN, our staff can set one up for you.
Don't forget to bring your card to the library each time you visit.
All of our libraries have free to use computers with internet access, Microsoft Office and scanners. You can use these straightaway after joining. We also offer printing, for which a small charge applies. If you are under 16, your parent or carer needs to fill in a consent form if you want to use the internet.
