BID charges and reliefs/exemptions
The funding for the BID Company is raised from the payments of all businesses within the designated BID area and is ring-fenced for the specific benefit of that area and the businesses within it.
The charge is calculated using the current business rates property rateable value (RV) and a multiplier set by the BID Company. The BID company set their own rules in terms of any RV limits, maximum charge limits, multipliers, whether any empty exemptions or other reliefs will be allowed, whether RV changes will be dealt with in year or wait until the following year etc.
