Types of abuse

Domestic abuse can take place in lots of different ways.

It can result in physical violence, but it can also be psychological abuse, emotional abuse, financial abuse, sexual abuse and controlling or coercive behaviour. It's not just physical abuse.

Are you a vulnerable adult or do you know a vulnerable adult who is being abused?

A vulnerable adult is someone who may be in need of help because of a disability or illness. It may be someone who is unable to take care of themselves or they may be someone who is unable to stop someone else from harming or taking advantage of them.

You should report any concerns about abuse straightaway.
