Get involved and support safer communities
Safer 6 only works when our communities are part of it. By sharing information, talking to friends and neighbours, and engaging online, you can help more people get involved and stay informed.
It only takes a moment to make a difference and we have some suggestions below.
1. Share on social media
Following, liking and sharing our updates is one of the easiest ways to support Safer 6 and reach more residents.
What you can do
- Like and follow our social media accounts
- Share posts about upcoming events and initiatives
- Comment to help boost visibility
- Tag friends, family or local groups
To make it easier, we prepared some ready-to-use messages you can copy and paste when sharing on your own profiles.

2. Tell people in your community
Not everyone is on social media, so speaking with people in-person can go a long way.
You could:
- Mention Safer 6 at community meetings
- Share information with local groups or organisations
- Tell neighbours, friends and family
- Display posters in community spaces (where appropriate)
3. Attend and bring someone with you
If you’re going to an event, invite someone along.
- Bring a friend, neighbour or colleague
- Share your experience afterwards
- Encourage others to get involved next time
4. Make your voice count
Engagement isn’t just about sharing. Just as conversations help raise awareness and build trust, your feedback can help shape future activity.
Here are some ways to further engage:
- Complete surveys
- Respond to consultations
- Join local discussions
- Share what you’ve learned
- Highlight local priorities
- Encourage others to have their say
