From wellbeing support and health advice to crime prevention and community engagement, there are plenty of opportunities to get involved, access support, and meet the teams working in your area.
As part of this programme, our Grounds Maintenance teams will be carrying out clearance and clean-up works along the frontage of Brookview Flats and the Murdoch Road footpath, from Wellington Street towards the canal. In addition, the Council’s Road Safety Team will be delivering a “Walk and Talk” child pedestrian safety session for nursery-aged children at Rood End Primary School.Trading Standards, Envornmental Health and Waste Officers will be visiting local businesses.

Each launch event will host a series of services and partners, who will be sharing information about the services that they provide and the activities they will be leading throughout the campaign. You will have the chance to meet, connect and learn more about the role that they play in keeping Sandwell safe.

Residents are being invited to attend a free talk on the risk of scams an on-line fraud.
Delivered by local West Bromwich Building Society people will learn about what to look out for and what to do if you think you have been scammed.

Come along to the Mobile Police Station at Lightwoods Park, Smethwick, where residents can meet local officers and members of the Neighbourhood Services team as part of the Safer 6 campaign.
This is a great opportunity to discuss any local concerns, receive crime prevention and community safety advice, and find out more about the work being carried out to keep neighbourhoods safe and welcoming. Council officers will also be on hand to provide information about local services and support available in the area.

St Paul's Community Gathering Pop-Up Event
This will be the first St Paul's community gathering of 2026. We will be hosting pop up stalls with representatives from a variety of council services as well as a Mobile Police Station in the car park.

After school, come and chill at Just Youth! Drop by the Youth Bus to hang out, meet new people, take part in activities and get support if you need it.

Scam Awareness and Advice Session

This engaging and informative session will help you spot the warning signs of scams, protect your personal information, and feel more confident dealing with suspicious calls, messages, and offers. You’ll also get practical advice on what to do if you or someone you know has been affected.

Safe Places Scheme – Community Safe Space
