This page brings together upcoming events, activities and drop-in sessions led by Sandwell Council and local partners, all focused on keeping our communities safe, healthy and connected. From wellbeing support and health advice to crime prevention and community engagement, there are plenty of opportunities to get involved, access support and meet the teams working in your area.

As part of this work, our Road Safety Team will be delivering lessons with Year 6 pupils on road safety and independent travel, with sessions taking place at Perryfields Primary School and Langley Primary School. In addition, Network Rail will be delivering a rail safety assembly at Causeway Green Primary School. Our Housing Services team, working alongside West Midlands Fire Service, will also be delivering fire safety awareness sessions at Minster Close and Broadmere House.

Alongside these activities, our Grounds Maintenance teams will be carrying out clean-up work at Cakemore Playing Fields, Lion Farm Playing Fields, and in the alleyways of Martley Road and Brunel Road. Our Trading Standards and Environmental Health and waste (SERCO) teams will also be visiting local businesses. In addition our Recylcling Support Officers will be out and about at Tame road and Church Street offering help and support on all things waste recycling.

Sandwell's Public Heakth Team 'Healthy Sandwell' are carrying out free community Liver Health Checks.

You don’t need to book an appointment, the scan only takes 7 minutes, and it is non-invasive.

Even if you’re unsure about your eligibility, come along anyway to receive additional support and get further information on how to improve your health.
