This page brings together upcoming events, activities and drop-in sessions led by Sandwell Council and local partners, all focused on keeping our communities safe, healthy and connected. From wellbeing support and health advice to crime prevention and community engagement, there are plenty of opportunities to get involved, access support and meet the teams working in your area.
In addition to the events listed on this page, the council’s Grounds Maintenance Team will be carrying out work to clean and clear areas around the Millennium Centre, Lovers Walk, Squires Walk and the alleyways of Little Hill, helping to improve the local environment. There will also be a town-wide school litter pick competition to encourage young people to take pride in their community, alongside Trading Standards visits to businesses on the High Street. There is also a town wide Schools Lotter Pick competition being run by Public Health.

You will have the chance to meet, connect and learn more about the role that they play in keeping Sandwell safe.

Walk and Talk
Join us for a friendly Walk and Talk session with Sandwell’s Public Health Team. Taking place at Sons of Rest, this relaxed session is a great way to get active, meet others and share any local issues or ideas.
Officers from Housing and ASB teams will also be present to speak with residents, offering advice and support with tenancy and community safety issues.Whether you fancy a short walk, or want to raise concerns in your area, everyone is welcome — just come along and get involved.

Learn essential lifesaving skills at this free, trainer-led First Aid workshop delivered by Kore Wellness. Taking place at Wednesbury Leisure Centre, this practical session will give you the confidence to respond in an emergency.

Sandwell Safe Places Awareness Session
Drop by Morrisons in Wednesbury and find out more about the Sandwell Safe Places Scheme with the Community Safety Team. This informal session will raise awareness of how the scheme supports people who may feel vulnerable when out and about, and how local businesses and venues can help.

After school, come and chill at Just Youth! Drop by the Youth Bus to hang out, meet new people, take part in activities and get support if you need it.

Scams and On-line Fraud Awareness
Hosted by West Bromwich Building society, drop by Wednesbury Library and find out more about banking fraud and scams how to spot them and what to do if you fell you have been scammed.
Reporting Hate Crime
Come along to this free, drop-in session hosted by the Community Safety Team. Find out how to recognise and report hate crime, learn about support available, and speak to friendly staff in a safe, welcoming space.
