John is a Chartered Engineer with an accounting qualification, bringing over 54 years of experience in metal manufacturing and engineering. Since 1987, he has held senior director roles and currently works part-time for a large international steel and engineering group employing around 30,000 people worldwide.
John has worked in Oldbury for more than 20 years and was appointed a Deputy Lieutenant (DL) for the West Midlands in 2017. He now serves as Lead DL for Sandwell, supporting civic and community initiatives across the borough.
He shared: "I am one of the original Sandwell Business Ambassadors and work to support the development of the local economy and community. I was invited to join the Smethwick Towns Fund Board as a representative of local business."
