Councillor Jalal Uddin
Sandwell Council Elected Member
Jalal has been an elected councillor representing the Soho and Victoria ward in Smethwick since May 2022. He is also currently the Cabinet Member for Children and Families at Sandwell Council.
As a ward councillor, Jalal works closely with residents to address local priorities, supporting community concerns and representing the interests of Soho and Victoria within the council. His role includes engaging with constituents, attending council meetings, and working alongside partners to improve neighbourhood services and outcomes.
As Cabinet Member for Children and Families, Jalal has strategic responsibility for services supporting children, young people, and families across Sandwell. This includes oversight of safeguarding, education-related services, and initiatives aimed at improving opportunities and wellbeing for young people.
