Parents of Year 11 Students – Did You Know?
If your child is continuing in full-time education or approved training after Year 11, you may be able to continue receiving Child Benefit until they turn 20 (provided they remain on an eligible course).
- A Levels
- T Levels
- BTECs and other vocational qualifications
- Study programmes at college or sixth form
- Approved training programmes
Remember, young people in England are required to remain in education or training until age 18, but there are lots of options available – college, sixth form, apprenticeships and more.
Continuing in education or training can help young people:
- Keep future career options open
- Gain valuable skills and qualifications
- Improve employment prospects
- Build confidence and independence
