Simon Cains
Deputy Head Teacher, Grace Mary Primary
Simon has lived in Tividale for over 15 years and has worked at Grace Mary Primary School for more than 15 years, serving as Deputy Headteacher for the last 12. Through both his professional and personal life, Simon has developed strong connections across the local community and a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing local families.
Outside of his role in education, Simon is an active member of Oakham Church, where he runs a monthly board game club aimed at reducing loneliness, strengthening family relationships, and creating opportunities for people to connect with others in the community. He also enjoys spending time walking his dog around the local area.
Simon joined the Tividale Neighbourhood Board because he cares deeply about the future of the area and the opportunities available to local residents. Through his work in education, Simon sees first-hand the challenges many families face, particularly around early childhood development and access to support services. As a parent of teenage children, he also recognises the need for more opportunities and activities for young people.
Through his involvement with the Board, Simon hopes to help strengthen community provision, support local families, and ensure that investment delivers lasting benefits for residents of all ages.
