Programme timeline and application rounds

Due to the high level of demand for funding, the Smethwick Partnership Board has introduced a single application timetable for the current funding round.
All organisations wishing to apply for funding must submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) by Friday 25 September 2026. Following assessment, applicants with a successful EOI will be invited to submit a full application.
Please note that all applicants with a successful EOI, including those whose EOIs were approved during August and September 2026, must submit their full application by Friday 23 October 2026.
Timeline
- Wednesday 1 July 2026 – Funding opportunity opens
- Friday 25 September 2026 – Expression of Interest (EOI) deadline
- Friday 23 October 2026 – Full application deadline for all successful EOI applicant
Why has the process changed?
The funding programme was originally designed to operate as an open and rolling programme, with applications accepted until December 2026. However, due to the significant level of interest received, the Board has introduced a single deadline for Expressions of Interest and full applications. This approach will:
- Enable the Board to review all applications at the same time
- Ensure funding decisions are made fairly and transparently
- Allow projects to be assessed against the overall demand for funding
- Reduce the risk of organisations investing time in developing applications when available funding may already be fully committed
Future funding opportunities
The Smethwick Pride in Place programme is a 10-year programme, with funding allocated annually by Government. The introduction of this deadline does not mean organisations have missed the opportunity to access funding. Further funding opportunities are expected to be made available throughout the lifetime of the programme.
Before you apply
All applicants must contact the Smethwick Neighbourhood Development Officer to discuss their project before completing an Expression of Interest Form. This helps ensure proposals align with the programme objectives and that applicants receive appropriate support and guidance before applying.
