Our history
Tividale's story is closely linked to the industrial growth of the Black Country. During the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, coal mining, stone quarrying, brickmaking and ironworking helped shape the area and provided employment for generations of local families. The construction of canals through Tividale supported industry and trade, connecting the area to the wider region.
Today, reminders of this heritage can still be seen across the area. Landmarks such as Tividale Aqueduct, the historic Birmingham Canal Navigations and Tividale Park reflect the area's industrial past and its unique place in the history of the Black Country. Alongside these historic assets, Tividale has evolved into a well-connected residential community with valued green spaces, local amenities and a proud Black Country identity.
