Sandwell businesses are invited to apply for a voluntary role on the Friar Park Neighbourhood Board, helping shape up to £20 million of long term investment through the government’s Pride in Place pro
The Board is recruiting a Business Community Representative, offering a chance for a local business owner or manager to influence regeneration priorities and support improvements in Friar Park over the next decade.
Friar Park has been selected to receive up to £20 million through the Pride in Place programme, which aims to build stronger communities and give local people more control over decision‑making. Sandwell Council, as the accountable body, is establishing the Neighbourhood Board to oversee this work and ensure investment reflects the priorities of people who live and work in the area.
Over the next 12 months, the Board will engage with local residents, gather feedback on what matters most, create a plan to improve the area and decide how funding should be used. The Business Community Representative will play a key role in bringing the voice of local employers into these discussions and ensuring opportunities for local people.
Recruitment is also underway for two Young People aged 16–19 and a Health Care Sector Representative, who will join the Board alongside residents, community groups, councillors and the local MP. These roles will help ensure a broad mix of perspectives shapes the future of Friar Park.
Applications for all roles are open until midnight Friday 22 May and should be submitted by expression of interest to FriarPark_pipp@sandwell.gov.uk.
