I’m delighted to be appointed the Chair of the Pride in Place Board. Growing up here, I know how wonderful the people of Friar Park are. This funding is a massive opportunity our area and we need to work together to celebrate Friar Park and make it an even better place to live.

But this work isn’t just about the Board, its about all Friar Park residents having their say on what they want the area to be like.

I’ve been pleased to hear how many people have given their views and shared ideas over the Summer engagement activities.

Our challenge now is to turn this into plans for the future.

Friar Park has Strong Roots and a Bright Future.

- Jonathan Ward, Chair of The Future of Friar Park Board

The Future of Friar Park Board was set up as part of the Government’s Pride in Place Programme.

We are a group of local people with a shared mission to build on Friar Park’s strong roots to create a Bright Future. We are responsible for delivery of the up to £20million investment over the next 10 years.

Our Board brings together people with a range of skills, experience and local knowledge.  All of the Board Members are committed to putting the community at the heart of our decisions.

How the Board works

Our Board is chaired by Jonathan Ward. Jonathan grew up in Friar Park and is Deputy Direction of The Albion Foundation. Jonathan provides leadership and helps ensure our work remains focused on delivering positive outcomes for Friar Park and its residents.

Board members volunteer their time, expertise and local insight to support the neighbourhood's development and future ambitions. We are committed to working openly, collaboratively and in the best interests of the community.

The Board meets regularly throughout the year to review progress, discuss priorities and make decisions that support the delivery of local projects and initiatives. While meetings are not open to the public, you can ask to attend as an observer. We are committed to transparency and publish key information, updates and important documents through this website so residents can stay informed about our work.
