EYFS SEND Reviews and Support
Advice and support around the provision for early years children with SEND bespoke to your school. This support ranges widely from how to make the most of the quality first teaching supporting all children in EYFS, to specific, evidence-based interventions that can become part of your school's early years SEND toolkit. Over a number of visits, support may include reviewing the current SEND systems in early years, such as early identification of needs, assessment of EY SEND pupils, curriculum adaptations for SEND, reviewing the provision in additional learning spaces as well as looking at how to ensure that the EYFS learning environment is inclusive.
Visits are collaborative, reflective and supportive for the staff working on the ground with the children with the aim of building a robust capability within your school which is long lasting. Following each visit, a report is provided with clear actions and links to a wide range of support with documentation, training and ideas.
Referrals for EY SEND visits are made through your Sandwell School Improvement Advisor or through the Sandwell Early Years Team. For schools outside of Sandwell or academy schools, contact donna_woolery@sandwell.gov.uk
