Cradley Heath In Bloom

The Friends of Haden Hill Estate have received CIL funding to support the Cradley Heath in Bloom project.

The CIL funding will be used to purchase several planters to be placed in various locations in Cradley Heath.

The aim of the Project is to make Cradley Heath High Street more attractive for visitors with a variety of planters and colorful flora. This project is in partnership with WM Police, Tesco and various other local organisations. 

The group were awarded CIL funding of £3,189.94.

Bumble Hole Conservation Group

Warrens Hall and Bumble Hole Nature Reserve Maintenance Project

Bumble Hole Conservation Group have requested CIL funding to purchase equipment for the maintenance and improvement of Warrens Hall Nature Reserve and The Bumble Hole Nature Reserve.

The size of the Nature reserve requires constant maintenance to keep it attractive, clean and safe for visitors of all ages.

The Bumble Hole Conservation Group have existing equipment that is well used and in some cases in need of replacement due to overuse and damage.

The purchase of further equipment allows the team of 16 volunteers to maintain the Nature Reserve more easily and would prevent the area from becoming overgrown and less attractive to visitors.

The group were awarded CIL funding of £1,023.94

Rowley Regis Disability Centre

Safety and Security project

Rowley Regis Disability Centre have received CIL funding to replace internal and external doors to their community building to make the building more secure.

Rowley Regis Disability Centre has received repeated attempted break in’s and vandalism to the building in recent years.

The group would like assistance to replace these double doors and install a metal shutter to prevent any further damage.

The centre also has a second set of internal doors which lead into the main room.

The group would like to replace these internal doors which allow more room for people with disabilities to enter the room safely and removes the risks of the current doors.

The group were awarded CIL funding of £3,166.00

Sporting Your Futures

Sporting Your Future in Rowley Regis Parks  

Sporting Your Futures have been successful receiving CIL funding to deliver multisport activities in a project aimed at reducing antisocial behaviour by supporting young people to participate in community sports and physical activity sessions in locations around Rowley Regis.

The project is based at Bearmore Park, Britannia Park and Haden Hill Park and activities include Football, Softball, Archery, Quick Cricket, Dodge Ball, Foot Tennis, Tennis, Boxercise, Fitness and Free Play. The activities run alongside indoor sessions. 

The project is for 12 months with 40 spaces per session. The CIL funding has allowed Sporting Your Future to purchase a range of sporting equipment and marquees to be able to deliver the sessions.

The group were awarded CIL funding of £4,301.01

Midland Film and Art

More access please 

Midland Film and Art have applied for CIL funding to build accessibility into their new premises.

The new access has allowed wheelchair users, sight limited and various other people with disabilities to gain access to the building. Opening up this facility for various uses.

The new premises will also be developed to provide a stage, 3 studios, a community art space, a meeting room and a landing gallery space which will then be accessible to people with additional needs.

In addition, existing classes such as the Life drawing and felting classes will also become accessible to more people. Many of the classes are beneficial for the mental health of the individuals who participate but also allows for the development of new skills and acts as a social space. 

The group were awarded CIL funding of £3,072.00

Holy Cross Church

Foodbank Secure Storage 

Holy Cross Church is a voluntary led organisation formed in 1966, based in Rowley Regis.

The Church is supporting a range of different activities and events provided for the community to attend along with a Hall that can be hired out. Holy Cross Community Centre opened a Branch of the Black Country Foodbank for the benefit of those who live in the Grace Mary / Oakham / Tividale area. Volunteers run the Foodbank each Wednesday morning. 

The Holy Cross Community Centre has been successful in receiving CIL funding to help towards storage cupboards for the Foodbank.

The CIL funding helped the organisation install two storage cupboards so that the food can be stored securely.

The Group were awarded CIL funding of £806.40

Friends of Mary Macarthur Gardens

Friends Maintenance Project

The Friends Group is voluntary led organisation formed approximately 15 years ago to develop and care for the Mary Macarthur Gardens in Cradley Heath. The Group has 15 volunteers who maintain the gardens for the benefit of the local community.

The organisation has been successful in receiving CIL funding to help towards gardening tools and equipment such as a mower, grass strimmer, pruning saw etc.

The CIL funding will help the group carry out general garden maintenance and keep the gardens looking at their best, for local residents to enjoy. 
    
The Group were awarded CIL funding of  £1,409.47

Oakham Evangelical Church

Garden Project 

Oakham Evangelical Church is well-established in the community. 2022 marked 150 years since their founding. They are a well-recognised and respected community hub.  The church hall hosts many groups such as Parents & Toddlers, Youth Club, Senior Citizens and many other community events.

The CIL funding is being used to purchase items such as benches, herbs, soil, plants, storage, and garden toys. This will allow them to create a recreational garden area for the community.

The garden project will turn an unused area into a garden space for existing and new groups to develop and enjoy.

The Group were awarded CIL funding of £4,797.48.

Our Lady of Lourdes Church

Faith and Hope Foodshare Old Hill

Faith and Hope Foodshare Old Hill are a community church group that provide a foodshare every Tuesday which has been running for 10 years. They provide the community with food donated from supermarkets and parish donations.

Our Lady of Lourdes Church applied for CIL funding to purchase and install secure storage shelving to store food and provisions. By installing the secure shelving, the foodshare will have increased facilities to store more food. This will allow them to support more local people in need.

Group were awarded CIL funding of £3,583.44

Oakham Community Club

Oakham over 55s

Oakham Community Club formed in October 2021 aimed at people 55+. The group support members with their wellbeing, mobility and isolation. They meet at Holy Cross Church every Tuesday where there are activities including a book club, games and raffle. 

Oakham Community Club would like to enhance their current provision and applied for CIL funding to purchase catering equipment and games designed to improve mental wellbeing and enhance their Tuesday coffee morning. In addition, the group will be providing digital skills training for their members.

The group received CIL funding to purchase catering items for the Tuesday coffee morning. As well as laptop cases, a storage unit and extension leads to use when conducting their ITC sessions. 

Group were awarded CIL funding of £1,225.77.
