What happens next?
A Shared Lives scheme worker will visit you at home and ask you questions about the things you like to do – such as going out for meals or going to the cinema.
A scheme worker will use the information that you have given to find the most suitable carer for you.
We will give you a ‘talking book’ which has pictures of the carer and their home for you to look at.
If you would like to meet the carer in person, we can arrange this with you.
We will arrange another meeting with the carer at their home. You can go with your parent/carer.
Or, we will find another talking book of another carer. If there are no carers available, we will put you on a waiting list.
After getting to know your carer, we can trial an overnight stay.
