The Rowley Regis Parks Improvement project is a major investment in local green spaces, designed to enhance facilities, improve accessibility, and promote health and wellbeing across the community.

Originally known as the 'Britannia Park Greenspace Project', it received Government approval for its Full Business Case in March 2022. Since then, the project team has been finalising work packages, with on-site construction beginning in March 2023.

In December 2024, the project secured an additional £414,000 Towns Fund Grant, made available through reallocated funding from another Rowley Regis Town Deal project. This extra investment will allow further improvements at Britannia Park and the creation of a new play area at Haden Hill Park.

The project will deliver a wide range of upgrades, including:

  • deliver a new low-carbon community building to provide changing rooms
  • install drainage to sport pitches
  • create 15 new allotment plots
  • widen the main entrance and driveway
  • improve the appearance of the two other entrance points (Ross and Mackmillan Road)
  • provide a new enlarged car park (90 spaces including 12 disabled parking bays)
  • construct new footpaths to provide a perimeter route for park users
  • refurbish 2 Tennis Courts
  • refurbish the existing MUGA
  • reconstruct the skate park
  • replace all play and fitness equipment
  • remove trees that are deemed at risk
  • plant shrubs and new trees
  • plant a new Beech Tree Maze
  • replace the existing steel play area at Haden Hill Park

Work is also underway to refurbish the nearby Britannia Park Sons of Rest building:
