The Haden Hill Leisure Centre is set for a major transformation, with plans underway to replace the existing facility with a brand-new, state-of-the-art leisure centre. This exciting £24 million redevelopment, consisting £20 million UK Government, £2 million co-funding from Sandwell Council and £2 million from Sports England, will deliver a modern and inclusive space designed to support health, fitness and community wellbeing.
The new centre will offer a wide range of high-quality facilities, including:
- A main swimming pool and a learner pool
- A spacious 100-station gym
- A 27-station indoor cycling studio
- Two multi-purpose fitness studios
- A four-court sports hall
- A dedicated community room
The project is being funded by the UK Government, Sport England and Sandwell Council. It was procured using Alliance Leisure, part of the UK Leisure Framework, which is owned and managed by Denbighshire Leisure Ltd. Leading construction firm Speller Metcalfe has joined the design team and successfully delivered the project through RIBA Stage 3.
Construction is scheduled to begin in November 2025, with the new leisure centre expected to open its doors in Spring 2027.
