The Fountain Lane development in Oldbury has transformed a long-derelict former foundry site on the corner of Fountain Lane and Bromford Lane, demolished in 2003, into a vibrant new community. Backed by West Midlands Combined Authority (WMCA) Housing Deal funding, Lovell Partnerships has delivered 246 homes on the six-hectare site, including 114 affordable homes and five First Homes as part of Sandwell’s pilot scheme. The project exceeds WMCA’s 20% affordability requirement, with 49% of homes offered through affordable rent and shared ownership.
In addition to housing, the development has created six local jobs, supported 10 work experience placements, welcomed four new apprentices, provided opportunities for 13 existing apprentices, and donated £1,052 to local causes - delivering lasting social value alongside high-quality homes.
